Exciting announcement gig wise today is that I will be supporting the legendary DJ and producer Ashley Beedle (X-Press 2, Black Science Orchestra) as part of the Eurocultured festival in Manchester on SUNDAY 3rd JUNE. We will be at Font Bar, 7-9 New Wakefield Street, Manchester from 5pm onwards…

Yes we are here… finally – the release of the debut EP by my long time vocal collaborators Double Yellow. The ‘We Got Caught’ EP comes out digitally on London label Here & Now Recordings.

The EP features 2 original tracks, a cover of the Queens Of The Stone Age classic ‘No One Knows’ and remixes from Phase 5 Stereo and Yam Who?

DJ support comes Gilles Peterson, Kev Beadle, Danny Krivit, Joey Negro, DJ Cosmo, Chris Philips, Bill Brewster, Severino (Horse Meat Disco), Pete Herbert (Reverso 68), Adam Rock (Jazz Re:Freshed), Simon Harrison (Basic Soul), Phil Levine (Eclectic Jazz) and more… oh and there was a 9/10 review in Blues & Soul magazine!!

Local Tomorrow Night & Local Mix!!

Afternoon all! Heads up as tomorrow night (Thursday 3rd May) is the 4th installment of myself and Purpose B‘s night ‘Local‘ down at Cord, Northern Quarter in Manchester. Double Yellow Music Video – No One Knows (Queens Of The Stone Age Cover)

So as we count down the hours ’til the debut Double Yellow EP hits the digital streets – NEXT MONDAY! - we spent the weekend clinking our plastic wine glasses, filled with fizzy apple juice, as the dixie jazz style cover of the Queens Of The Stone Age‘s classic ‘No One Knows’ got a spin on the Ronnie Scott show on Jazz FM.

But the main news is that there is a music video and with a big thick slice of influence from the Monty Python pie this features the first lady of Double Yellow Suzi Lilley on vocals – the video can be checked out on You Tube HERE!!

Directed by Lee Marks this video presents a world where Dave ‘Double Yellow’ Lilley is cloned and completes the ultimate one man band line up… of sorts!

Double Yellow EP Release Date!!

Well finally here we go… having featured on all 4 of my Diesler LPs here is the debut EP taken from Double Yellow‘s first album which is due out in the next couple of months. This EP is released digitally on 7th May 2012 via London’s Here & Now Recordings. The package includes 2 original songs, a cover version of the Queens Of The Stone Age classic ’No One Knows‘ and remixes from Jack 2 Phono stalwart Phase 5 Stereo and House maestro Yam Who?.

The EP has been gaining some great support as well from Gilles Peterson (BBC Radio 1 / BBC 6 Music), Bill Brewster, Kev Beadle and house dons Joey Negro (Z Records) & Danny Krivit. Radio support has come from shows including Soul & Jazz podcast, Basic Soul & Jump Start Radio and the icing on the cake was the EP receving 9/10 on Blues & Soul Magazine (check HERE).

Afrika Fuentes – Rainbow [Diesler Remix]

Afternoon all. Hope the weekend was good for you! Quick heads up to the remix I have done for the wonderful Afrika Fuentes. The Madrid songstress (did I just use that term?) featured on my 2007 album The Rhythm Station which was released on Freestyle Records.

Back then she sung ‘Passion‘ in her native tongue but now she breaks out the English on ‘Rainbow‘ and her single, due out next month, has a swanky high end video online you can check NOW!

BUT she uploaded a video of the remix I did of her song and if you click on the Youtube link HERE! you can check it out… or perhaps see her original first and then see how I butchered it up! Haha…

Yes yes an exciting announcement for the Japanese fans of Geordie funk group Nick Pride & The Pimptones. The ‘After Midnight Feast Of Jazz’ remix compilation is released NOW on CD through P-Vine.

The Japanese only compilation, just like the European edition released on Record Kicks, features remixes of tracks from their debut album ‘Midnight Feast Of Jazz’ from TM Juke, Danny Massure, Smoove, Renegades Of Jazz and many many more!!

Leaving Atlantis Remix OUT NOW!!

Smoove & Turrell Remix : 10 Days To Release!

Is there nothing that Geordie duo can’t do? Smoove & Turrell are everywhere – from BBC Radio 2 play listing their last 2 singles to sell out gigs and performances up and down the UK and across Europe which has seen them gain a wealth of fans.

Next up for them is the 12″/digital single of ‘Slow Down’ which contains a cluster of remixes of the album track ‘In Deep’ by Dutch dance masters Kraak & Smaak, DJ Friction, Smoove and little old me!!

The single comes out (digitally at least) 27th February 2012 and is release on London label Jalapeno Records.
